The Blizzard, in Color

You know the saying about “red sky at morning, sailors take warning?” I see this view of the sunrise most mornings, but this was the first one I’ve seen that looked like the sky was burning.

The view from our balcony, sunrise on Friday

It began to gently snow just before 1 p.m. on Friday. These were my herbs on the balcony:

My Plants at 2 Saturday Afternoon

Saturday, around 1:30 p.m.

We had many more hours of snow to go, but I couldn’t get out the door to take pictures.

and some seriously worn-out kids,

Worn Out

the way the wind was blowing it didn’t make any difference.

Our Cars

Our carefully shoveled-out cars.

Oh well.

Sunday was sunny and bright, with no snowplows in sight, and many neighbors out shoveling and playing.

Snow Fort

We haven’t seen a plow since Friday so I don’t know when we’ll be able to get out of the neighborhood, but we have a snow fort.

Chairs on the Porch

Sunrise on the balcony on Sunday. Those lumps contain our grill, chairs, and table.

Later this week I’ll post a few in black and white.
