Little Milestones

Although on Friday we had snow,

March Snow

today is the beginning of a wonderfully warm, spring-like week. We took full advantage of it with a picnic lunch, a trip to the playground, and time for outdoor painting.

I’m excited that my chives have sprouted and I have fresh ones for cooking again. I’m not sure how long they’ve been coming back in this same window box. Twelve years? Fifteen? At any rate, they are another welcome sign of spring.

And in milestones that probably mean something only to me, this is my 100th post on this blog!

Thoughts about about this blogging experience thus far:

  1. I have no idea what posts will be popular. None. Sometimes I spend weeks working on material for a post and it gets barely any attention, and the next post is thrown together quickly and gets tons (relative to my blog) of attention. I can’t predict it.
  2. Blogging, and in particular getting out in nature regularly and looking for beautiful things to photograph, has kept me grounded during a really tough year, and I’m grateful for that.
  3. I am also grateful that you’ve taken the time to read my blog! The likes, kind comments, and growing list of subscribers is so encouraging. Thank you!
