The Nesting Crows

In the top of tallest tree at the top of the big hill behind my house a pair of crows is building a nest.

I took this picture from my third-story window,

Crow's Nest at the Top of the Tree

and I’d estimate the nest to be at least two stories above that. Knowing that the lookout perch at the top of a ship’s mast is called a crow’s nest, I still hadn’t realized how high up these birds really live.

Here a crow arrives with a new bit of building material, perhaps a piece of grapevine?

I find them fascinating to watch.
