Mermaid Skirts for the End of School

Remember when I had to go to Leesburg and “happened upon” Finch Knitting + Sewing Studio?

Finch Outside

Well, I found this fabric, Coral Queen of the Sea by Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda Fabrics, featuring mermaids in blue and coral, that clearly needed to come home with me.

I thought I’d make myself a mermaid sundress, but then I realized it would never see my closet because the girls would always be borrowing it generously decided to make something for my mermaid-loving girls instead.

And what better way to welcome the start of summer vacation than mermaid skirts in one’s favorite colors?
