Works-in-Progress Wednesday: Making Christmas

Both girls are home sick today, so it seemed like a good time to start making Christmas ornaments.

My Aunt Carol surprised us with the supplies when she came down for my mom’s funeral.

We have snowflakes, which Henry decorates with glitter glue,

while Abigail makes Rudolphs,

and Betsy works on shell angels.

My uncle has worked on or around scallop boats for years, so he has the connection for scallop shells. He and my aunt sanded the edges so they’re not sharp, and added the ribbon wings and wooden heads.

I think it’s a really neat project.

I have a few other gifts in progress, but I’ll just give you a peek, so as not to spoil any surprises.

Both are (mostly) made from my mom’s fabric stash. I have great hope that one of these will be finished by Christmas. The other…well, we shall see!
