A Quilt for Kitty

This is such a quick, messy, thrown-together quilt that I almost feel silly sharing pictures of it. But in the interest of trying not to be such a perfectionist about creative things, here it is:

Quilt Front

This quilt is based on the facts that 1.my cat Jasper needed a new comfy bed and 2. I inherited this unwieldy thick batting and I wanted to use it up. The quilt top was improvisationally pieced from strips of blue and white fabrics in my stash.

Close Up of Front

The back is this red and white check that reminds me of the inside of a sleeping bag.

Quilt Back

In fact, the whole thing has a sleeping bag feel to me, which I like.

I admit that the quilting is less than stellar, just a simple (yet uneven) spiral. I was fighting to get all that pouf under the presser foot.

But the kitties don’t seem to mind.

Paws

I had intended this to be for one kitty, by the way.

Kitties on Quilt

These two each snuggle with us, but virtually never with each other, so I take this as a major feline seal of approval.
