Some Snow, Finally

It wasn’t the 8-14 inches that had been predicted, but it was more than a dusting, for the first time this winter.

Henry with Sled

And for the kids, it was everything; two days off of school, enough to sled on, enough to carve a snow fort out of the plowed pile, enough to start a snowman.

It was worth putting snow pants on for.

Henry is determined to clear all of the snow and ice from the neighborhood. Yesterday we had a wind chill of ten degrees, and after an hour outside he still did not want to come back in the house, because there was work to do!

The flowers did not fare very well with the low temperatures, unfortunately. Our backyard pear tree’s blossoms look rather sad and brown now, and I’m hearing that the cherry blossoms are much the same.

I did get a few cherry blossom pictures last week, which I will post soon. See above for why I haven’t had time to go through those pictures yet. Priorities!
