Shooting Today

My husband and I are currently collaborating on an art installation, and my part is slightly overdue. So this morning I find myself in the kitchen where the light is good but the timing is bad, shooting in a pop-up studio, ignoring a huge pile of dishes on the counter, while also trying to get two rambunctious kids dressed and out the door to preschool.

The Studio

It’s going well, I’d say.

I don’t tend to share a lot about my process, on this blog or in person, preferring to show the finished product rather than the messes and mess-ups that happen on the way to making it. But on the other hand, I’m trying to teach my kids to persevere when things get difficult, and I think it can be helpful to share my challenges and mistakes and rejections.

I did take some pictures this morning. Here’s one:

I will admit that Matthew is more confident in being able to produce a quality finished product than I am at this point, but he is kind of a genius at what he’s doing, and it will be interesting to watch this come together, at least.
